The page controls whether the system sends email and which sender is used.
You can send a test through exactly the same code as a real message, and the list shows every attempt with its status and any error.
The API key is an environment variable on the app pool and is never shown here; the page only says whether a key exists. The sender address must sit on a domain verified with the provider, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC. The list never shows content, link or token.
